We are delighted to welcome you and your child to Oak Class which operates in the afternoons as Y3/4/5/6.

We are very pleased to have you as part of our school community. We believe that working closely with parents and carers is an important part of helping every child to feel happy, confident and ready to learn.

On our class page, you will find useful information, important updates, key dates and resources to help you stay connected with life in Oak Class.

Who’s Who – Our Class Team

Meet the team who support and inspire our children throughout the week:

Mr Boyle — Class Teacher, Assistant Headteacher, SENDCO & DDSL

Monday to Thursday

As well as being our class teacher from Monday to Thursday, Mr Boyle is also an Assistant Headteacher, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO) and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL).

In these roles, Mr Boyle works across the school to support children’s learning, wellbeing and development. As SENDCO, he coordinates support for children with additional needs and works closely with staff, families and outside professionals to help ensure that every child can access and enjoy their education.

As DDSL, Mr Boyle plays an important role in promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all our children, working alongside the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Through his teaching and leadership roles, Mr Boyle is committed to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where every child can thrive.

Mrs Noad — Teaching Assistant and ELSA Support

As well as working as a Teaching Assistant in our class, Mrs Noad also provides ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) support.

ELSA support helps children to understand and manage their emotions, develop self-confidence, build positive relationships and cope with challenges they may face. Through individual or small-group sessions, children are given a safe and supportive space to talk, reflect and develop strategies to help them feel happier and more confident in school.

Mrs Noad works closely with children and staff to ensure that children feel listened to, valued and supported throughout their school journey.

We believe that happy, confident children are ready to learn, and ELSA support plays an important part in helping our children to thrive.

Mrs Cracknell — Teaching Assistant & OPAL Leader

Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday

Mrs Cracknell is one of our Teaching Assistants, providing valuable support to children in the classroom and helping them to develop their confidence, independence and enjoyment of learning.

Mrs Cracknell is also an OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) Leader. In this role, she helps to promote exciting, creative and inclusive opportunities for children to play, explore and develop skills during their time outside.

Through her work in the classroom and as an OPAL Leader, Mrs Cracknell plays an important part in creating a positive school environment where children can learn, play and thrive.

Mrs Smith — Class Teacher

Friday
Mrs Smith teaches the class on Friday and helps ensure a positive and consistent end to the school week.
