In September 2023 we started on an 18 month programme to become an OPAL school. This involves seriously improving our playtimes.
Research shows that quality play contributes to improving children's emotional, physical and mental health. We are dedicated to improving children's activity levels, especially since the pandemic, and this is one of our approaches.
We are launching our OPAL playtimes January 2024. We are developing zones in our playground for quiet play, active play, creative play, dance, climbing or just chatting. We have welly storage and spare coats to ensure that children can play out in all weathers!
