Oak Class (Y4/5/6)

Welcome to Oak Class!

We are a mixed age class of Y4/Y5 and Y6 pupils.

Our class teacher is Mrs Roseblade-Bargh; she's in class Monday to Thursday. Mrs Smith teaches the class on a Friday.

Our whole class PE is now on a Friday afternoon with Mrs Smith AND and Monday afternoon with Mr Knight. Please wear PE kit on these days.

Our theme from September is 'Off with their Heads!'

It’s all about Kings, Queens, power and punishment.

•We’ll learn about Anglo-Saxons and Scots and how they fought after the Romans left.

•We’ll learn about all of the kings and queens of England - some famous ones in detail.

•We’ll look at some of the worst jobs in history, and how crime and punishment has changed.

Fancy some reading about our theme? Here are some of the books we’ll be reading, sharing and exploring this term:

  •        Off With Their Heads!: All the Cool Bits in British History (Martin Oliver)
  •        How to train you dragon (Cressida Cowell)
  •        Black Tudors: The Untold Story (Miranda Kaufmann)
  •        Anne Boleyn and Me (Alison Prince)
  •        Terrible Tudors (Horrible histories)
Below is our theme sheet and knowledge organiser. There's lots of information on these about what we're going to be exploring this term and things you might find useful!
At the end of Autumn term 1, Oak class headed to Berkeley Castle! We had a Tudor dance class in 'The Great Hall', learnt all about the hisotry of the Castle and what life may have been like there hundreds of years ago.
