I am delighted to welcome you to the website for Westbury-on-Severn Church of England Primary School. Our rural school is situated in the heart of the village of Westbury-on-Severn on the outskirts of the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. We currently have 79 pupils on roll, organised into 3 classes; you can find out more by visiting the Class Pages!
Our school motto is “Shaping the Spirit. Achieving together. Learning for Life.” This is underpinned by our school’s Christian values which are explained on the Christian Distinctiveness page. We value every member of school community, and we believe it is important to recognise and celebrate all their achievements. Our aim is that each and every child should enjoy learning and be provided a wide range of learning opportunities to enable them to achieve their best and be well prepared for the future.
Our school is a happy and harmonious place to learn and work where people are helpful, considerate and respectful of each other. At all times we strive for the highest standards in all areas of the curriculum for all children. This is underpinned by our three core Christian values of Respect, Friendship and Perseverance.
We welcome parents as partners so that, together, we can promote high standards of learning, behaviour and attitudes to enable every child to be the best that they can.
We are proud to be a Church of England Primary School, and we enjoy close links with Westbury Church of St, Peter and St. Paul. We also work closely in partnership with the West Gloucester Schools Partnership (WGSP) and with 5 other local primary schools and together we make up the GloWMATCH cluster.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school directly with any queries you may have.
David Crunkhurn Headteacher
Our school gives our children a positive start to their educational journey within a happy and vibrant Christian environment.
Learning is centered around a thematic and experimental curriculum, which gives all children a chance to thrive, develop and progress in a warm, friendly and supportive setting.
"Pupils show a very keen interest in their learning and participate with enthusiasm in the activities provided. The headteacher and staff have created a very positive climate where pupils thrive and develop."
