I am delighted to welcome you to the website for Westbury-on-Severn Church of England Primary School. Our rural school is situated in the heart of the village of Westbury-on-Severn on the outskirts of the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. We currently have 79 pupils on roll, organised into 3 classes; you can find out more by visiting the Class Pages!
Our school motto is “Shaping the Spirit. Achieving together. Learning for Life.” This is underpinned by our school’s Christian values, in particular: respect, friendship and perseverance. These values, plus others, are explained on the Christian Distinctiveness page. We value every member of our church school community, and we believe it is important to recognise and celebrate all their God-given talents and achievements.
Our vision is that every child should enjoy learning and be provided with a wide range of learning opportunities that enable them to achieve their God-given potential, so that they are prepared well for their future. This vision is expanded further in our Christian distinctiveness page.
Our school is a happy and harmonious place to learn and work. People are helpful, considerate and respectful of each other. Together we strive for the highest standards in all areas of the curriculum, so that we can live out Christ's desire to enable all members of our school community to 'have life, and have it to the full.' (John 10:10) This is underpinned by our school's understanding of spirituality, which is to 'encourage who you are, and what makes you unique as a child of God.'
We welcome parents as partners so that, together, we can promote high standards of learning, behaviour and attitudes to enable every child to be the best that they can.
We are proud to be a Church of England Primary School and enjoy close links with Westbury Church of St, Peter and St. Paul. We also work closely in partnership with the West Gloucester Schools Partnership (WGSP) and with 5 other small local primary schools, which together make up our GloWMATCH cluster.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school directly with any queries you may have.
