Post of General Teaching Assistant and Lunchtime Supervisor for commencement 1st September 2018
The Governors of Westbury-on-Severn C of E Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team. The role is broken down into the following areas:
• 26.25 hours a week supporting the children in the classroom (D grade)
• 5 hours (Monday to Friday) as a Midday Supervisor (C grade)
Although this position is likely to be within the reception class, experience in working with pupils across Key Stage 1 and 2 is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to support the pupils in and out of the classroom in a variety of ways. This may include delivering interventions to small groups and individuals or working 1:1 with pupils with SEND. Supporting mixed-age teaching in class will form a large part of the role. The ability to be flexible is essential to this role. In addition, the successful candidate would be required to:
• Have a good understanding of Early Years and KS1 principles
• To be passionate about how children learn
• Be a team player and have good communication skills
• Build professional relationships with adults and children
• Support the class teacher.
Our school is a supportive environment where guidance and training are provided. We provide excellent CPD opportunities and with the right experience and commitment, HLTA training could be available. We would be particularly interested to hear from anyone with a passion for Physical Education and Outdoor learning.
We are proud to be a Church of England Primary School and therefore expect the person appointed to be able to work within this context and be fully supportive of our Christian Values and ethos. Visits to our school are welcome by prior appointment. The closing date for applications is Friday 13th July at 12noon.
Please contact Mrs Anna Cox (School Administrator) for any further information about the post and an application pack. Please complete the standard GCC application, which can be found in the following link: and return it to the school, via email.
