Our Values

"Christian values are at the heart of the school's ethos and underpin the high quality of relationships throughout the school community."

SIAMS February 2015

The school has a list of twelve Christian values. One value is the focus for the term. Worship is led round the relevant value and this is then followed up in the classroom by teachers. These values are displayed in the school hall. We endeavour to build our school on all our Christian values, with the teachings of Christ at the centre.

To learn more about our vision and values please view our statement below.
"Pupils spoke of how the school’s values, including ‘respecting everyone and everything’, help them to feel safe."
Ofsted June 2018

"The school is outstanding as a church school because these core values shape relationships and drive the spiritual development of both children and adults."

SIAMS February 2015

Our aim is to foster the intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual development of all our pupils. We believe that children need a caring, consistent environment where they are treated with respect and where their well-being is seen as paramount.

One way that we embed the values in our school life is through Valerie Values. Valerie is a toy bear who is awarded in family worship each week to a child who has shown one of our school's Christian values. Children are encouraged to nominate other children who they have seen demonstrating a value.

We believe that each child should leave school with:

  • a knowledge of God's love for them;
  • a sense of moral and spiritual awareness, recognising that they are unique as a child of God;
  • a sense of wonder and curiosity about the world around them;
  • a love of learning and the desire to achieve their God-given potential;
  • a growing ability to relate to and communicate with other people;
  • a sense of being a citizen of the school, wider community and the world.
