Horse Chestnuts

Welcome to Horse Chestnut Class
Horse Chestnut Class is a fun place to be. We work hard and play hard. We respect all members of our class and support each other. We enjoy learning in a variety of ways, as individuals, in pairs or groups and as a class. We make full use of all areas of the school to enhance our learning.
As the oldest members of the school we enjoy taking on new challenges and responsibilities. These include delivering and supporting whole school and class worships as part of the Worship Team and being Buddies to our Elver and Swallowtail children.

Horse Chestnut Class is our upper Key Stage 2 class and is home to Years 4, 5 and 6. Mrs Roseblade-Bargh is the class teacher.  She is supported by the class Teaching Partners,  Mrs McCartney and Mrs Noad.
Our Theme this term is a local history study "Destination Westbury". We are excited to be learning about our own village and what it means to us. We will be exploring online and physical maps and learning how to draw our own as we examine our surroundings. We will be using a range of sources to research Westbury's history, particularly the workhouse and Westbury Court. We would love to hear from you if you can help with any artefacts, photos or information about Westbury's history. We will be creating our own eBooks about what we have learned in computing. In art we will be learning about landscape painting and perspective. We will be comparing the works of LS Lowry and Heaton Cooper and creating our own landscapes of Westbury Court Gardens.
This term Year 4 has P.E with Progressive Sport on Monday and on Friday we all have P.E, again with Progressive Sport. On P.E days we should come into school in appropriate P.E kit.
